Food Prep Sunday – 03.01.2015

Yesterday was the perfect day to do my weekly #FoodPrepSunday.  It had snowed a lot the day before, so it was a perfect day to stay inside and heat up the kitchen with the stove and oven!  Thankfully the sun did come out, which helped with shoveling, and it gave me some great natural light in the kitchen for photos. Plus, I prefer natural light so much more than using a lamp or overhead lighting because it keeps me happy and awake!

Breakfasts

  • Quinoa Spaghetti with Chicken and Veggie Marinara
  • Turkey Burgers with Broccoli Slaw
  • Crispy Buffalo Bites from Lexi’s Clean Kitchen

Snacks

  • Apples and All Natural Peanut Butter (for Jeff) and Almond Butter (for me)
  • Carrots and Hummus
  • Plum Tomatoes stuffed with Hummus
  • String Cheese and Whole Grain Sesame Sticks
  • String Cheese and Sweet Potato Chips

  1. Well done! I try to do the same thing, I really do. I plan to and then I get out of bed and realise how much work it is, even with all the kitchen gadgets. You’ve quite inspired me to a) attempt this again, and b) blog about it (will add a link here) thanks!

    1. I’m glad the post inspired you! I’ve been doing the Food Prep Sundays for almost 2 years, and have just started blogging about it. I will admit, it is a lot of work at times depending on what you’re doing (and if you’re taking constant photos!), but it really does help throughout the week to know what you’re going to eat 🙂 Definitely keep me posted if you do start blogging about it too!

  2. Your chicken drumsticks looks incredible! I never thought of using that in a lunch, I’ve always been hesitant to buy drumsticks because I feel like I just can’t live up to the chicken wing hype.     1. Thanks K! The drumsticks are incredible. They are a great flavor combo, especially for lunch! It’s so easy to package these with some broccoli for a healthy, light tasting but filling lunch 🙂 I’d be more than happy to share a post on Tuesday on your blog. I’m putting it on my calendar now so I don’t forget!
