My 60 Days of PiYo: Day #2

I’m amazed at how much the body can change over a month of not exercising! While doing the PiYo video this morning I realized that I’ve lost some of the flexibility that I had gained and I needed a chair again to help me with my balance. I was also totally out of breath when the video was over, whereas before when this was in my regular cycle of workouts, it was an easy day.

I need to remember this as part of my “Why” I want to be fit every time I try to talk myself out of exercising.  It’s like when I took ballet classes when I was younger.  I was taking 3 classes a week at one point, and if I missed even one class, not only was I behind in anything new my teacher taught, but I’d notice a difference in my performance because I lost the momentum.  Now as an adult, I have to continue the mentality that practice is key, and if I want to grow my flexibility and strength then I must continue to “practice” every day.

I did notice the abundance of energy I had today, especially right after exercising!  It’s been awhile since I’ve been that pumped in the morning to continue to get my day started.  Why do I forget these great things happen?!?!

On a side note, I had a wonderful time having an afternoon coffee with my friend, Kat.  She and I went to this coffee shop called The Opera House in downtown Kansas City.  I love going to places that are paleo friendly and offer almond milk as an alternative to regular milk so I could enjoy a latte without the stomach ache afterwards!  It’s also nice to just have a girl’s afternoon.  I love Jeff to bits, but sometimes I just need a little girl talk 😉

Define: Lower Body


Breakfast: Which came first?  The Chicken or the Egg Bake?

Snack #1: 1/2 a cucumber with 1 TB hummus

Lunch: Orange Ginger Balsamic Chicken Drumsticks with 1/2 cup roasted sweet potatoes and 1 cup steamed broccoli

Snack #2: none

Dinner: Leftovers from last night – 1/2 cup organic brown rice spaghetti with 1 cup of chicken and veggie marinara sauce

Water: I totally forgot to keep track of this today, but I think I’ve had close to 60 ounces if I’m counting correctly how many glasses I drank 🙂

Coffee: 1 cup with 1 TB So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Creamer with breakfast and a small latte made with almond milk in the afternoon with a friend.
